Continuing Your Work After Day Two...

Choose some of these activities to complete with the assistance of your Coach:

1.  Meet with your coach at least once to plan, team teach or reflect on your work.

2.   Try a fluency and/or podcast activity in your classroom.

3.  Incorporate a podcast into an independent activity or whole group activity for your classroom. Frame your activity around one of the 21st century standards.

4.  Share what you have learned about using technology during your Language Arts class with your principal and teammates. Invite them to come and see the things that you are trying.

Aha for today was how easy it is to load podcasts onto the iPods...oh boy I can't wait to do this for my class. Not only will they get to use the podcasts, they'll be doing their own in the next few weeks. I also plan to get going on my blog so the kids can use it.

I can't wait to use podcasts and turn them into movies. I've done the audio for awhile but I'm ready to put pictures into them. Also, I look forward to creating two voice poems with the reading buddies and have them record their creations.

I was suprised at how many "old" things in education and reading fluency are coming around again! I am looking forward to using garage band with my class to help them hear their fluency!

I had no idea Garage Band was so awesome. I will use it for cold/hot reads, publishing poems, and maybe the two-voice poems. My students will love to add photos to make a little movie with their poems. :)

I am looking forward to using two-voice poems w/pictures and turning them into movies! I think that this is going to make an excellent fluency activity.

I will also be incorporating different types of read alouds in my class.

an Aha for today was also how to use podcast within my classroom. I also loved all the great resources you gave us especially the Intervention site that creates the reading probes. I am also going to use Garage band as my record of oral reading and fluency practice. The kids will love this. Thanks

I would like to try making 2 voice poems with my class. Hope to share the one I did today with teammates tomorrow! I love that I have resolved to resume my read aloud time again based on the research I read today. I also enjoyed thinking ahead to 2020 about where students will be then.

I'm going to try to make a Garage Band podcast for my next class newsletter. I LOVED learning how to change text from a publication or book to a running record format. WOW! I'm Mickey Dolenz singing, "I'm a believer!!"

Writing a report on an African-American musician and recording it into a podcast with music by the musician playing in the background and pictures of the musician to go along with the podcast.
